கூட்டுப்படைகளின் தலைமை அதிகாரியான ஜெனரல் சரத் பொன்சேகா தனது சேவையிலிருந்து ஓய்வுபெறுவதற்கான அனுமதி கோரியும் தனது இந்த தீர்மானத்திற்கான காரணங்களை விளக்கப்படுத்தியும் எழுதிய கடிதத்திற்கு சரியான பதிலொன்றை அனுப்புமாறு ஜனாதிபதி மகிந்த ராஜபக்ஷ உத்தரவிட்டிருப்பதாக இடர் முகாமைத்துவ மனித உரிமைகள் அமைச்சர் மஹிந்த சமரசிங்க தெரிவித்தார். ஜெனரல் பொன்சேகா தனது பதவியிலிருந்து ஓய்வுபெறுவதற்கு அனுமதி கோரி அதற்கான காரணங்களை 3 பக்கங்களில் விளக்கி நேற்று முன்தினம் வியாழக்கிழமை ஜனாதிபதிக்கு கடிதமொன்றை அனுப்பியிருந்தார்.
இதற்கே உரிய பதிலொன்றை அனுப்புமாறு ஜனாதிபதி உத்தரவிட்டுள்ளதுடன் இந்த பதிலை ஜெனரல் பொன்சேகாவுக்கு அனுப்புவதற்கான நடவடிக்கைகள் எடுக்கப்பட்டிருப்பதாகவும் அமைச்சர் சமரசிங்க நேற்று ஜனாதிபதி செயலகத்தில் நடைபெற்ற ஊடகவியலாளர் சந்திப்பில் தெரிவித்தார். ஜெனரல் சரத் பொன்சேகா தனது பதவி விலகல் குறித்து ஜனாதிபதிக்கு எழுதிய கடிதத்தில் இடம்பெயர்ந்த மக்களை முகாம்களில் தடுத்து வைத்திருக்கும் விதம் மனிதாபிமானமற்றதென குறிப்பிட்டிருப்பது தொடர்பாக கேள்வி எழுப்பப்பட்டபோதே மஹிந்த சமரசிங்க இந்த தகவலை தெரிவித்தார்.
இதேநேரம், ஜெனரல் பொன்சேகாவினால் ஜனாதிபதிக்கு அனுப்பப்பட்ட கடிதத்தின் விபரங்கள் தனக்குத் தெரியாதென உத்தியோகபூர்வமாக மறுத்த அமைச்சர் சமரசிங்க கூட்டுப்படைகளின் தலைமை அதிகாரி என்ற வகையில் ஜெனரல் பொன்சேகா சீருடையுடன் உத்தியோகபூர்வமாக ஜனாதிபதிக்கு அனுப்பிய கடிதம் பிற இடங்களுக்கு வெளியிடப்பட்டிருக்குமானால் அது நீதி நெறிமுறைகளுக்கும் நேர்மைக்கும் முரணானது என்றும் சுட்டிக்காட்டினார். இந்த நிலையில் ஜெனரல் சரத்பொன்சேகா தனது பதவியிலிருந்து ஓய்வுபெற உடனடியாக அமுலுக்கு வரும் வகையில் ஜனாதிபதி அனுமதி வழங்கியிருப்பதாக ஜனாதிபதி செயலாளர் லலித் வீரதுங்கவை மேற்கோள் காட்டி அரசாங்க தகவல் திணைக்களம் நேற்று செய்தி வெளியிட்டுள்ளது.

People of Sri Lanka are subjugated to Indians by Defense Establishment. People of Sri Lanka will not forgive rulers for this. October 15th of 2009 is a black day for Sri Lankans and the President should ask resignations from who mislead him. Sri Lanka does not belong to its rulers, if they want they can take refuge in India!
Indian government is reluctant to the idea of Mr.F.S to contest in the forthcoming presidential election. They are very confident that if Mr.F.S becomes president, he will have close relation ship with Pakistan. It will be very danger for their national security. What it means is India geared to persuade Sri Lankan politician to devastate their own country, where India assure their own security measure. what about being humble? Isnt general fonseka also trying to take all credit to himself too.? Why do people forget what the navy and the airforce and the president did to fight the war. All these people are part of the victory. No one man couldv done it by himself. If the president did not appoint general sarath and provide the three forces all political backing this wouldnt have been possible. At the same time president wouldv not been able to win the war if not for the military leadership given by the general too. I urge you people not to give credit to just one party. Also to all those UNP “patriots” who are now saying that general sarath is their hero… Have you forgotten how you mocked the great general. Have you forgotten how you mocked the battles and victories of the general. Have you forgotten how you went all over the world and declared that the generals army are was criminals. Have you forgotten how RANIL was in norway exactly on the day that we won the war. He was with EPIC SOLHEIM planning and comprising to stop the war? How do you people forget the recent history so fast. I solute the general for the great service he had done to our nation. I just hope that he wont join such a bankrupt hypocritical party as the united national party.
