நடந்து முடிந்த பொதுத் தேர்தலில் மக்கள் விடுதலை முன்னணி (ஜே. வி.பி) பாரிய பின்னடைவைச் சந்தித்திருப்பதாக அரசியல் ஆய்வாளர்கள் தெரிவித்தனர். கடந்த ஆறாவது பாராளுமன்றத்தில் 39 பாராளுமன்ற உறுப்பினர்களைக் கொண்டிருந்த ஜே.வி.பி. ஏழாவது பாராளுமன்றத்திற்காக நேற்று முன்தினம் நடைபெற்ற பொதுத் தேர்தலில் ஐந்து ஆசனங்களையே வெற்றி பெற்றிருப்பதாகவும் அவர்கள் கூறினர்.
இதேநேரம், 1994ம் ஆண்டு முதல் ஹம்பாந்தோட்டை மாவட்டத்தில் பாராளுமன்ற ஆசனமொன்றை தமதாக்கிக் கொண்டிருந்த இக்கட்சி இத் தேர்தலில் அந்த ஆசனத்தையும் இழந்திருப்பதாகவும் அவர்கள் சுட்டிக்காட்டினர். இது தொடர்பாக அவர்கள் மேலும் கூறுகையில், தென் பகுதியில் ஜே.விபி.யின் ஆதரவு தளம் இத்தேர்தலில் பாரிய சரிவுக்கு முகம் கொடுத்துள்ளது. இத்தேர்தலில் ஹம்பாந்தோட்டை, மாத்தறை, இரத்தினபுரி, பதுளை, மொனறாகலை, குருணாகல அநுராதபுரம், பொலன்னறுவை, நுவரெலியா, மாத்தளை போன்ற மாவட்டங்களில் ஜே. வி.பி. உறுப்பினர் எவரும் எம்.பியாகத் தெரிவு செய்யப்படவில்லை.
கடந்த பாராளுமன்றத்தில் அங்கம் வகித்த ஜே.வி.பி முக்கியஸ்தர்களான இராமலிங்கம் சந்திரசேகர், கே.டி.லால காந்த, ஜினதாச கித்துலேகொடை, நிஹால் கலப்பதி, பிமால் ரட்நாயக்கா, எஸ். கே. சுபசிங்க, காமினி ரட்நாயக்கா போன்ற முக்கியஸ்தர்கள் எவரும் இத்தேர்தலில் எம்.பியாகத் தெரிவு செய்யப்படவில்லை. 1994ம் ஆண்டில் நடைபெற்ற பொதுத் தேர்தலில் தனித்துப் போட்டியிட்டு ஒரு ஆசனத்தை வெற்றி பெற்ற ஜே. வி.பி, 2000ம் ஆண்டில் நடைபெற்ற பொதுத் தேர்தலில் பத்து ஆசனங்களையும், 2001ம் ஆண்டில் நடைபெற்ற பொதுத் தேர்தலில் 16 ஆசனங்களையும் வெற்றிபெற்றது.
என்றாலும் 2004ம் ஆண்டில் நடைபெற்ற பொதுத் தேர்தலில் ஐக்கிய மக்கள் சுதந்திர முன்னணியுடன் இணைந்து போட்டியிட்டு 39 ஆசனங்களை ஜே. வி.பி. தனதாக்கிக் கொண்டிருந்தது. இருப்பினும் ஏழாவது பாராளுமன்றத்திற்கான உறுப்பினர்களை தெரிவு செய்வதற்காக நேற்று முன்தினம் நடைபெற்ற பொதுத் தேர்தலில் ஜனநாயக தேசிய கூட்டணி தலைமையில் போட்டியிட்ட ஜே. வி.பியால் ஐந்து ஆசனங்களையே வெற்றிபெற முடிந்திருக்கின்றது. இதன்படி இத்தேர்தலில் ஜே. வி.பி. பாரிய பின்னடைவை சந்தித்திருப்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

JVP is a lost force and it must be totally defeated to safeguard the nation. It is one of the worst reactionary ,just like the LTTE or Tamil Tigers. Both of them are originated from the petty bourgeois background. In the start both of them much talked about Socialism ,revolution and freedom but in the long run they have showed their fascist face and pro imperialist stand. Rcecently one of the JVP leader has proclamied that they have been maintining a very good relationship with the American embassy in Srilaka. In the near future, Both of them have to be totally anihilated by the progerssive and anti-imperialist Srilankan people. JVP is almost decimated from the political scene but the TNA which is the real (puli or Tamil) Tiger is still existing.
It is the fault of the other tamil groups. Because those people are not prepared to unite as a one force to defeat the arch enemy. But still there is an opportunity to totally deafeat the enemy TNA by uniting as a strong force in the coming Provincial council election.

JVP is not a lost force. It is true that JVP is a racist party. However, the group that was with racist elements have joined with master racist of the nation “Rajapakse”. Wimal Weerawanse is fundamentally Sinhala terrorist. Today the SLFP have reformed as a Sinhala nationalist party along with Sinhala Urmaya and all leftist racists like Champika, Bandulla and racist masters like Rambukalle from UNP. Unless Rajapkse regime is defeated in Sri Lanka, racism and Sinhala fundamentalism will remain as the strong. This election propaganda by Rajapakse focused on two key issues:
1. Dominant Sinhala Buddhist nation.
2. Oppostion to the government is betrayal.
The polls were forced to the people within six months of end of war where:
1. Emergency regulations exist:
2. Media freedom restricted.
3. People are displaced.
4. Law and order and justice systems are not functioning independently.
During Presidential election, polling rate was 75%. But in the Parliamentary elections it dipped to 50%. What happened to those 25% of those people. The main reasons could be:
1. People did not trust the election system because people believed that there was widespread fraud during the presidential election.
2. People were forced to stay from reaching the polling stations.
If we consider this 25% as against supposed to go towards opposition, then the results would have been different. In reality this election is not democratic election. So, there is nothing to say JVP or opposition is completely defeated.

This is very interesting. You wants every one who stands for equality of tamils with Sinhala, human rights, law and order and justice system should be defeated and only Sinhala fundamentalism should exist in the island. I do not understand who do you refer as “other tamil groups”. TNA is formed by all major tamil parties including FP, TC, EPRLF, TELO etc. I think you are referring to Para military groups that are working with Sri Lankan Sinhala army including EPDP,(PLOTE?), Pilliyan, Karunna, Ananthasangaree. They are already united with Rajapkase regime. I know President has to call Northern Provincial election soon under emergency regulation. Otherwise it is difficult to rig the polls as he did in the last two elections. A good example was during eastern provincial elections, he barred TNA from contesting that election and Pilliyan won the election but he lost everything during this election. So, it is clear that Rajapakse decides well in advance the election results.
So, those people who were behind LTTE and TNA are your enemies and those who killed (Rajapakse family and paramilitaries) over 100,000 tamils, and put 300,000 tamils under warbed wire concentration camp are real friends.
