Indian tyre manufacturer Ceat, an RPG Group company, is set to increase its stake in Ceat Kelani International Tyres, a tyre manufacturing joint venture based in Sri Lanka.
Ceat will increase its holding in the JV from 27% at present to 50% by the end of the current fiscal year (31 March 2010), The Economic Times says. Associated Ceat Holdings (ACHL), a company incorporated in Sri Lanka, and Kelani Tyres of Sri Lanka floated the JV firm Ceat Kelani International Tyres. Srilanka now became one part of India. The U.S. car maker Ford plans to sell its Swedish subsidiary Volvo to the Chinese competitors Geely.
