இலங்கை இராணுவம் வெளிநாட்டு இராணுவத்தினருக்கு பயிற்சிவழங்கும் நடவடிக்கை என கூறி கிளிநொச்சி முல்லைத்தீவு மற்றும் வவுனியா ஆகிய மாவட்டங்களில் இராணுவ பயிற்சி முகாம்களை ஆரம்பிக்க அரசாங்கம் முயற்சிக்கிறது. தமிழீழ விடுதலைப் புலிகளை தோல்வியடைய செய்ததைத் தொடர்ந்து இந்த பயிற்சிகளை வழங்கவிருப்பதாக இராணுவ தளபதி ஜகத் ஜெயசூரிய தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.
பாகிஸ்தான் போன்ற நாடுகளில் இருந்து இராணுவ அதிகாரிகளுக்கு பயிற்சிகளை வழங்குவதற்கான கோரிக்கைகள் அதிகரித்துள்ள நிலையில் இந்த தீர்மானம் எட்டப்பட்டதாக அவர் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.
இதனைத் தொடர்ந்து முல்லைத்தீவு கிளிநொச்சி மற்றும் வவுனியா ஆகிய மாவட்டங்களில் இராணுவ பயிற்சி முகாம்களை ஆரம்பிக்கவிருப்பதாக அவர் தெரிவித்துள்ளார்.
இந்த பயிற்சி வழங்களின் போது சிங்கள மொழியிலான இராணுவ பயிற்சி விபரங்கள் ஆங்கிலத்திற்கு மொழிப்பெயர்க்கப்பட்டு இலகுபடுத்தப்படும் என குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளார்.

I know some of our very own Sri Lankans underestimate our Military Forces. But given the correct resources, I reckon they are a force to reckon with. On the other hand getting messed up in a conflict that is not ours, I am uncertain if this is a good move or not especially that we are just out of a war and the wounds not healed yet.
