பயங்கர வாதத்திற்கு முகம் கொடுத்து அதனை வெற்றி கண்ட உலகிலேயே முதல்தர விமானப் படை இலங்கை விமானப் படையாகுமென்று பாதுகாப்புச் செயலாளர் கோத்தாபய ராஜபக்ஷ நேற்றுத் தெரிவித்தார். 30 ஆண்டுகளாக எமது நாடு பாரதூரமான பிரச்சினைகளுக்கும், யுத்தங்களுக்கும் முகம் கொடுத்து அதனை வெற்றிகொண்டுள்ளது. இது போன்று நிலைமை மீண்டும் ஏற்படாத வகையில் பாதுகாத்துக் கொள்வது சகலரதும் பொறுப்பாகும் என்றும் அவர் மேலும் தெரிவித்தார்.
திருகோணமலை, சீனக்குடா விமானப் படை பயிற்சி கல்லூரியில் பயிற்சிகளை முடித்துக் கொண்டு வெளியேறும் விமானப் படைவீரர்களுக்கான கேடயங்களும், சான்றிதழ்களும் வழங்கும் வைபவம் நேற்று இடம்பெற்றது.
சீனக் குடா விமானப் படைத்தளத்தில் விமானப்படைத் தளபதி எயார் சீப் மார்ஷல் ரொஷான் குணதிலக்கவின் தலைமையில் நடைபெற்ற இந்த நிகழ்வில் பிரதம அதிதியாக கலந்து கொண்டு உரையாற்றும் போதே பாதுகாப்புச் செயலாளர் கோத்தாபய ராஜபக்ஷ மேற்கண்டவாறு தெரிவித்தார்.
விமானப் படையில் பல்வேறு பயிற்சிகளை முடித்துக் கொண்ட 329 விமானப் படைவீரர்கள் நேற்று வெளியேறினார்கள். இவர்களில் சுமார் இரண்டரை வருடகால பயிற்சிகளை பூர்த்தி செய்த 6 விமான ஓட்டிகளும், 16 அதிகாரிகளும் அடங்குவர். பாதுகாப்புச் செயலாளர் இங்கு மேலும் உரையாற்றுகையில்,
உலகிலேயே எம்மைவிட பலமான விமானப் படைகள் உள்ளன. எம்மைவிட ஆயுத பலங்கள் மற்றும் விமான பலங்களையும் வளங்களையும் கொண்ட விமானப் படைகள் உள்ளன. எனினும் மிகவும் குறைந்த வளங்களையும் விமானங்களையும் பயன்படுத்தி பயங்கரவாதத்தை வெற்றி கண்ட உலகிலேயே முதல்தர விமானப் படை இலங்கை விமானப் படையாகும்.
பயங்கரவாதத்தை வெற்றி கொள்ளும் பாரிய நடவடிக்கையில் விமானப் படையின் பங்களிப்பு மிகவும் மகத்தானது பாராட்டுக்குரியது. தாய்நாட்டை பாதுகாக்க அர்ப்பணிப்புடன் செயற்பட்ட சகலருக்கும் நன்றி சொல்ல கடமைப்பட்டுள்ளோம் என்றார்.
தொழில் ரீதியாக பெற்ற பயிற்சிகளை மிகவும் அர்ப்பணிப்புடன் எமது படை வீரர்கள் வெளிக்காட்டினார்கள் என்றும் அவர் சுட்டிக்காட்டினார். இந்த காலக்கட்டத்தில் விமானப் படைக்குரிய கடமைகளுக்கு மேல திகமாக தரைவழி பாதுகாப்பு கடமைகளையும் சிறந்த முறையில் முன்னெடுத்தனர் என்றும் தெரிவித்தார். விமானப் படைக்குச் சொந்தமான எம்.ஐ.24 ரக தாக்குதல் ஹெலிகொப்டர்கள் மூன்றும், மிக்-27 ரக தாக்குதல் விமானங்கள் மூன்றும் வானில் பறந்து சாகசங்கள் செய்தது அனைவரையும் வியக்கச் செய்தன. பல்லாயிரம் அடி உயரத்திலிருந்து பறந்து கொண்டிருந்த விமானத்திலிருந்து குதித்து பரசூட் மூலம் பறந்து பதினொரு விமானப் படை வீரர்கள் தங்களது சாகசங்களை காண்பித்தனர்.

very true sir..! i believe international pressure is a one key factor nmade the air force as the best air force. SLAF had to very cautious and took every step in the right and accurate direction to meet the target. how many NGOs were shouting about the civilian deaths and casualties by giving ficticious reports..! this is not do underestimate the skills and commitments made the SLAF. today US air force is failed. because they just bombed..nobody voiced against them. they have no pressure and every mistake they made their high rankers are giving thousands odd reasons to save their people. Had SLAF made any mistake all the lobbies talking about R2P, human rights, self determination etc. your opponent made you success. I believe sri lanka need this kind of pressure in other areas as well. classic example is angulana and Vass. media covers the events and pressured the authorities and had to arrest the culprits. otherwise these incidents also may be gone under the carpet.

Just because you got shiny new toys doesn’t mean that you’re capable of eliminating enemy. you gonna need to use those weapons effectively as well. our guys have proved that during the operation. US perhaps got the best assets for their Air force but certainly not the best Air force in the world. have you guys ever heard that best Military pilots exists in Israel Air Force?
