The statements made by Mr Milliband, Mr Obama and Mrs Clinton clearly indicate that Sri Lankan foreign missions have failed to communicate and they need to urgently review the way they communicate.

There is a highly effective LTTE propaganda war against Sri Lanka going on. It is absolutely essential to counteract the LTTE propaganda and keep the world informed. It should be the top and the highest priority job for Sri Lankan foreign diplomats to counter LTTE propaganda and tell the truth to the world.

There is an urgent need for Sri Lankan Diplomats abroad to evaluate their communication techniques and methods and improve urgently on quality and tactics used.Key decision makers need to be made aware that LTTE is carrying out a propaganda war against Sri Lanka.

It is essential that the international community understand the situation in Sri Lanka . For this reason diplomacy and strategic communication is essential. The Sri Lankan foreign ministry has failed to identify the media outlets and to communicate effectively. A task force is needed to immediately to remedy the situation..It is clear that the Sri Lanka’s Foreign Ministry and its overseas diplomatic corps have failed to reach key decision makers and the media outlets that have wider appeal among the general public and policymakers in particular.

A vision, mission and a strategy is needed to communicate with key decision makers in the world. If necessary we need to send key people to visit PM Brown, Mr Milliband and Mrs Clinton and so on.

Remedy

*Invite media outlets, key decision makers etc and have small group meetings with refreshments/meals provided. Presentations and information packs could be provided to the participants.
*Hold exhibitions, talks, presentations etc
*Arrange one to one meetings with key people.

Some thoughts for a simple message is given below.

Reasons why terrorism should be eliminated and why they should not be given a lifeline

If LTTE is to to lay down their arms and surrender to the Armed Forces and free the civilians held by them, then there would be instant ceasefire. The war in Sri Lanka is against terrorism and not against Tamils. Key decision makers need to be made aware that LTTE is carrying out a propaganda war against Sri Lanka and key decision makers are their targets. The following give reasons as to why terrorism should be eliminated.

1. LTTE is a deadly terrorist group with a unwavering mission to create a mono ethnic racial Tamil state. They have brain washed young persons mind with a suicidal cult.

2. Large number of Sri Lankans, civilians and security forces have perished due to terrorism over a period of 25 years and Sri Lankans have a right to end their misery by eliminating terrorism.

3. Large number of orphans, disabled persons, blind persons have been created by terrorists and Sri Lanka should have the right to end the terrorist menace.

4. LTTE have recruited children, brain washed them and converted them to become killers. Such evil acts should be stopped.

5. LTTE perfected the use of suicide bombers; invented the suicide belt; and they pass on deadly technology to other terror groups

6. LTTE Pioneered the use of women in suicide attacks; Murdered some 4,000 people in the past two years alone; and should be stopped in their tracks as soon as possible

7. LTTE assassinated hundreds of politicians including two national leaders.

8. LTTE have held civilians as hostages and they have shot civilians who tried to escape.

9. Sri Lankan troops have rescued mothers, babies, children, old people and showed kindness and care.

10 We have seen how Iraq and Afghanistan have been bombed and are aware of civilian deaths in excess of 100000 in Iraq and Afghanistan .

11. Thousands of Sinhalese men, women and children are seen handing over food, clothes, sanitary goods, toys, etc, to the best of their ability, to be given to IDPs.

12. The war is against terrorists and not against Tamils.

12. Why is sympathy shown by the West to Velupillai Prabhakaran when no such sympathy was shown to Iraq’s Saddam Hussein and ‘Chemical’ Ali. Why is Prabhakaran treated any differently to Osama Bin Laden ?

13. It is shocking to learn that UK that suffered terrorist attacks and went to war against terrorism is now rushing to give oxygen to the deadliest terror group in the world.

14. Those that turned a blind eye to terrorist fund raising should be held responsible for the death and destruction in Sri Lanka .

I hope and expect more from you in the future in favour of democracy and pluralism .One Mr.Thambiah.s wrote a book on the Ethnic conflict in Srilanka.Do you have any relationship with him? I read it and its more balanced one.
It is very pathetic ,the socalled intellectuals within the Tamil community in and out of Srilanka played a very shame game in supporting the Criminal LTTE.But it is good for the Tamil Saiva,Vellala rulling class which is highly exposed and almost it has lost its hold on the community.
