இன்று மு.ப. 10.40 மணியளவில் மாத்தறை அகுரஸ்ஸை கொடபிட்டிய எனுமிடத்தில் போர்வை முஸ்லிம் ஜூம்ஆப் பள்ளிவாசல் அருகே குண்டு வெடிப்பொன்று இடம்பெற்றுள்ளது. இது ஒரு தற்கொலைத் தாக்குதல் என இராணுவப் பேச்சாளர் பிரிகேடியர் உதய நாணயக்கார தெரிவித்தார்.
சம்பவ இடத்தில் இருக்கும் முஸ்லிம் சமய கலாசாரத் திணைக்கள அதிகாரி ஒருவருடன் தேசம் நெற் தொடர்பு கொண்ட போது இத்தாக்குதலில் சிலர் உயிரிழந்துள்ளதுடன் அதிகமானோர் காயமடைந்துள்ளதாக தேசம் நெற்க்கு உடனடியாகத் தெரிவித்தார். இத் தற்கொலைத் தாக்குதல் சம்பவத்தில் 14பேர் உயிரிழந்துள்ளதுடன் 46 க்கு மேற்பட்டோர் காயமடைந்துள்ளதாக தகவல்கள் தெரிவிக்கின்றன.
இந்தச் சம்பவத்தில் தபால் மற்றும் தொலைத் தொடர்பு சேவைகள் அமைச்சர் மகிந்த விஜயசேகர பலத்த காயங்களுக்கு உட்பட்டுள்ளார். மாத்தறை வைத்திய நிலையத்திலிருந்து கிடைக்கும் தகவல் படி அமைச்சர் மஹிந்த விஜயசேகர உடனடியாக கொழும்பு வைத்தியசாலைக்கு மாற்ற ஏற்பாடுகள் செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளதாக அறிய முடிகின்றது. இந்நிகழ்வில் கலந்துகொண்டிருந்த அமைச்சர்களான ஏ.எச்.எம்.பௌசி, அமீர் அலி, மகிந்தயாப்பா உள்ளிட்டோருக்கு பாதிப்பு ஏற்படவில்லை எனத் தெரிவிக்கப்படுகின்றது.
முஹம்மது நபி (ஸல்) அவர்களின் பிறந்த நாள் இன்றாகும். இன்றைய தினத்தை அரசாங்கம் தேசிய ரீதியில் வைபவமாகக் கொண்டாடுவதுண்டு. இந்த ஆண்டு இலங்கையில் தேசிய மீலாதுன் நபி விழா விழாக் கொண்டாடங்கள் மாத்தறை மாவட்டத்தில் அக்குரஸ்ஸ கொடபிட்டிய எனுமிடத்தில் நடைபெற ஏற்பாடு செய்யப்பட்டது.
அமைச்சர்கள் விழாவில் பங்கு கொள்ள ஊர்வலமாக வருகை தந்திருந்த நேரத்தில் சைக்கிளில் வந்த குண்டுதாரர் ஒருவர் மூலமாக குண்டு வெடிக்கவைக்கப்பட்டதாக அங்கிருந்து கிடைக்கும் தகவல்கள் தெரிவிக்கின்றன.

மாத்தறை அக்குறஸ்சையில் இடம்பெற்ற மீலாதுன் நபி தின வைபவமொன்றின் போது மாத்தறை கொடபிட்டிய முஸ்லிம் பள்ளிவாசலினுள் எல்.ரி.ரி.ஈ. பயங்கரவாதிகள் தற்கொலைத் தாக்குதலை நடாத்தியுள்ளனர்.
முஸ்லிம்களின் புனித தினங்களுள் ஒன்றான முஹம்மத் நபி (ஸல்லல்லாஹூ அலைஹிவஸல்லம்) அவர்களின் ஜனன தினத்தை முன்னிட்டு இன்று உலகெங்கிலும் உள்ள முஸ்லிம்கள் மீலாதுன் நபி தின கொண்டாட்டங்களில் ஈடுபட்டுள்ளனர். இலங்கையின் பல பாகங்களிலும் முஸ்லிம்கள் அவ்வாறான கொண்டாட்டங்களில் ஈடுபட்டுக் கொண்டிருக்கையிலேயே புலி;ப் பயங்கரவாதிகளால் தற்கொலைத் தாக்குதல் நடாத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது.
பயங்கரவாதிகளின் தற்கொலைத் தாக்குதலில் அமைச்சா;களான மஹிந்த விஜேசேக்கர மற்றும் பண்டு பண்டாரநாயக ஆகியோர் காயமடைந்துள்ளதுடன்> 10 பொதுமக்கள் பலியாகியும் 20 பொதுமக்கள் காயமடைந்தும் உள்ளனர். இச்சம்பவம் பற்றிக் கேள்விப்பட்டவுடன் பெரும் அதிர்ச்சிக்குள்ளான அதிமேதகு ஜனாதிபதியவர்கள் சம்பவத்;தை வன்மையாகக் கண்டித்துள்ளார்.அத்துடன் கொல்லப்பட்ட பொதுமக்களின் குடும்பங்களுக்கு தமது ஆழ்ந்த அனுதாபங்களைத் தொpவித்துக் கொண்டுள்ளதுடன்> காயம்பட்டவர்களுக்கு தேவையான சிகிச்சைகளை வழங்குவதற்கும் கொழும்புக்கு கொண்டு வருவதற்குமென விசேட மருத்துவர்கள் குழு ஒன்றை அதிமேதகு ஜனாதிபதி அவர்கள் ஹெலிகொப்டர் மூலமாக மாத்தறைக்கு அனுப்பி வைத்துள்ளார்.

The Government condemns in the strongest possible terms the LTTE suicide bomb attack on the Milad-un-Nabi Muslim Festival to mark the birthday of Holy Prophet Mohammed, at Godapitiya, Akurassa, Matara this morning around 10.a.m. which 14 persons killed and injured many others including a Government minister.
The Government notes with utmost contempt this wanton act of terrorism and observes that the attack bears the unmistakable signature of the LTTE. The attack reaffirms the fact that the LTTE is not only a ruthless terrorist outfit but also one which has no regard or respect for religion. This is an attack that deliberately targeting the Muslim Community and one that has sought to sow ethnic and religious disharmony.
Selecting of a Muslim shrine and a day sacred to Muslims, both in Sri Lanka and the world over, to carry out this attack, underscores the hatred the LTTE has towards the Muslim population of Sri Lanka, who have suffered considerably under its policies of ethnic cleansing both in the north and East of Sri Lanka. This reminds us of the LTTE’s massacre of Muslims at worships in the Mosque at Katthankudy in the East, in April 1993, in its war of terrorism.
The Government is of the view that this is another desperate act that the LTTE terrorists, now on their last legs have perpetrated to divert the attention from their humanitarian mission to flush out the terrorists from their last remaining foothold in the Wanni.
The Government remains unwaveringly committed to rid the country of the terrorist menace and bring about peace. This attack will only serve to strengthen the resolve of the Government and the security
forces in this regard.
The Government urges all citizens to remain calm and unprovoked, and support the security forces and Police by exercising utmost vigilance as the LTTE, facing imminent annihilation, could very well resort to other similar acts of desperation.
The Government offers its condolences to the families of victims of this brutal attack and wishes speedy recovery of the injured.

The Muttur episode today is a continuation of the LTTE ‘ethnic cleansing’ programme . The LTTE terrorists began ‘ethnic cleansing’ as early as 1984 when they massacred men, women, children, whatever age they were.
This was even before the terrorists began driving the Muslim population as well as the Sinhalese from the Northern Province, eastern province, Jaffna peninsula and Mannar district.
The Muslims living in the eastern province hardly had time to recover from the shocking LTTE terrorists massacre of over 150 Muslims leaving dozens injured on Friday night, 3rd August 1990. The victims, men, women and children were praying in the Husseiniya and Meera Jumma mosques in Kaththankudy when over 50 terrorists working in two groups forced themselves in with their assault rifles blazing at them.
This time the terrorists again selected the predominantly Muslim town of Eravur, about 9 miles east of Batticoloa on the Polonnaruwa-Batticoloa road. Sixteen years ago today the 11th of August 1990, the LTTE terrorists once again massacred 104 Muslims consisting of 45 males, 28 females and 31 children using T-56 assault rifles, knives, razors. More were seriously injured and some succumbed to their injuries. After killing them, the terrorists tore away all jewelry from the females and to terrorize the entire Muslim community they beheaded some of the survivors with long ‘kathis’.
This massacre was a continuation of terrorist ‘ethnic cleansing. Again the victims belonged to the Muslim dominated Saddam Hussein village, Pannaikadu, Kalundakuli villages in the Eravur electorate Muslim division. The Eravur massacre evoked the worst fears of the community as it was just about ten days after the brutal massacre in the two mosques in Kattankudy.
By the 20th of August over 450 Muslims were killed by the terrorists. On the 14th, 7 Muslims were killed by the terrorist in Samanthurai. An English daily reported on the 15th, “24 Muslims, Sinhalese villagers killed” in Anuradhapura, Vavuniya and Trincomalee.
In Avaranthalwa and Trincomalee over 200 armed Tiger terrorists attacked the Tambalagama Muslim village and shot 9 Muslims and 1 Sinhalese villager. In Akkaraipattu, Tiger terrorists bombed the Periyapalli mosque and three Muslims identified as K.L. Samsudeen, Sulaiman Lebbe Meera Saibo and M.I Jamal were injured and left for dead.
They were praying in the mosques. “Forty Muslims massacred in armed attacks” was a headline in an English Daily on the 7th. “10 Muslims were shot and wounded” was another caption. At about 7.00p.m on Sunday, 18 farmers in Palamkulam off Oluvil in Akkaraipattu area were caught by the terrorists and were shot with their hands tied behind their back. At Paranayanppu junction on the Akkaraipattu-Ampara road Tiger terrorists sprayed bullets killing over 15 Muslim villagers and just a short distance away, farmers were shot dead in the paddy field they were cultivating. Muslim villagers from Attalaichenai, Nintavur Oluivil, Palamunai were abducted by LTTE terrorist and later shot.
Neither did the terrorists spare the Sinhalese community. The same English daily reported: “Tigers kill eight in Nawagama village”. About 50 LTTE terrorists stormed into a room in the village and opened fire with T-56 assault rifles fatally injuring a 17 year old girl Nilmini who later died in hospital.
Madduma Bandara identified as a railway labourer was also among the dead. D.G. Kusumalatha, an eyewitness stated that over 25 terrorists stormed into the 16 line rooms. Many took cover under beds and wherever they could hide to avoid being killed.
In these incidents the Tiger terrorists were training large groups to initiate their recruits to kill without mercy. Any newly recruited terrorist refusing to cut their victims or behead them as ordered by the hierarchy were beheaded as a lesson for disobeying orders.
“Tamil Tigers Are Terrorists”. Sir David Goodall the British Ambassador reportedly stated in New Delhi that the “Tamil Tigers are terrorists”. Sir Goodall was reacting to reports of the continuous killing of hundreds of Muslims and Sinhalese civilians by the Tiger terrorists in the month of August.
Sir David Goodall told a news conference on the 10th: “We have no doubt that the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam in Sri Lanka is at the moment conducting a terrorist campaign aimed at disrupting the integrity of Sri Lanka. We are behind Sri Lanka in protecting its integrity”. This was perhaps the first official declaration by the British government that the LTTE was “conducting a terrorist campaign” in Sri Lanka.
The USA and the United Kingdom (one and half decades later) listed the LTTE as a terrorist organization recently.

எங்கும் இரத்தமும், சதைத் துண்டுகளுமே காணப்பட்டன. எனது உடல் எல்லாம் இரத்தமும் சதைத் துண்டுகளுமாகவே இருந்தது. அலுவலகத்தில் என்னுடன் வேலை செய்யும் ரபீக், நயாத் இருவரும் இரத்த வெள்ளத்தில் கிடந்தவாறு காப்பாற்றுமாறு கதறினர். எங்கும் மரண ஓலங்களாகவே தென்பட்டன.

நேற்றுக்காலை தேசிய மீலாத் விழாவை முன்னிட்டு அக்குரஸ்ஸ, கொடபிட்டிய கிராமம் முழுவதும் களைகட்டியிருந்தது.
இப்பகுதியில் உள்ள முஸ்லிம்கள் மட்டுமன்றி சகல இன மக்களும் ஒன்று சேர்ந்ததாக சுமார் 300 வாகனங்கள் அடங்கலாக ஊர்வலமும் நடத்தப்பட்டது.
கொடபிட்டிய பள்ளிவாசல் வளவில் அலங்கார உற்சவ மேடையும் போடப்பட்டிருந்தது.
முஸ்லிம் மத பெரியார்கள் அனைவரும் அணிவகுத்தபடி முன்னால் வந்து கொண்டிருக்க அதன் பின்னால் ‘ரபான்’ இசைக் கலைஞர்கள் ரபான் இசைத்துக் கொண்டு வர, அமைச்சர்களான மஹிந்த விஜேசேக்கர, ஏ. எச். எம். பெளஸி, சந்திரசிறி கஜதீர, அமீர் அலி, மஹிந்த யாப்பா அபேவர்த்தன, பிரதேச சபை உறுப்பினர்கள் மற்றும் முஸ்லிம் சமய கலாசார திணைக்கள உத்தியோகத்தர்களும் வந்துகொண்டிருந்தனர்.
சமய பெரியார்கள் அனைவரும் ஊர்வலமாக வந்து பள்ளிவாசல் வளவுக்குள் செல்ல முற்பட்ட போது என்னுடன் வந்த எனது மகனை சக ஊழியரான மொஹமட் அஸ்ரின் என்பவரிடம் பள்ளிவாசலுக்குள் அழைத்துச் செல்லுமாறு அனுப்பிவிட்டு படப்பிடிப்புக்காக பிரதம அதிதிகள் வரும் பக்கம் திரும்பினேன். எனது மகனும் நண்பரும் பள்ளிவாசல் மதிலைக் கடந்தனர். மதப் பெரியார்கள் உற்சவ மேடையில் ஏறிக்கொண்டு இருந்தனர்.
பிரதம அதிதிகள் பங்கமிருந்து பாரிய சத்தத்துடன் குண்டு வெடித்தது.
எங்கும் ஆட்கள் சிதறி விழுந்து கிடந்தனர். மரண ஓலமே கேட்டது. அமைச்சர் மஹிந்த விஜேசேக்கரவை சிலர் தூக்கிக்கொண்டு ஓடினர்.
எமது அலுவலகத்தின் சக ஊழியர்களான ரபீக் மற்றும் நஸாத் ஆகியோர் நிலத்தில் கிடந்தவாறு இரத்தக் காயங்களுடன் காப்பாற்றுமாறு கதறி அழுதனர். அவர்களை தூக்குவதற்குக்கூட ஒருவரும் இல்லை. நானும் கதறியவாறே அருகிலிருந்தவர்களை அழைத்து காயமடைந்தவர்களை தூக்கினேன்.
மிகவும் மகிழ்ச்சியாக ஆரம்பிக்கப்பட்ட விழா மரண ஓலத்துடன் இடைநடுவில் நிறுத்தப்பட்டுவிட்டது என்றும் தெரிவித்தார்.

Spokesman of the Ministry of foreign affairs of the Russian federation Andrei Nesterenko commenting the act of terrisosm in Matara said that the Russian Government strongly condemns the suicide bomb attack in Matara yesterday(10) which left 14 people dead and 40 injured and expresses its sincere condolences to the families of those killed as well as to all injured in this incident.
Russia confirms its consistent support of the struggle of the people and Government of Sri Lanka against terrorism and separatism and hope that peace and stability on the island on the basis of political solution of the existing problems will be established soon.

அமைச்சர் ரோஹித்த போகொல்லாகமவின் தலைமையில் வெளிவிவகார அமைச்சில் நேற்று நடைபெற்ற கலந்துரையாடல் ஒன்றில் பங்குபற்றிய இந்த நாடுகளின் இராஜதந்திரிகள் இந்தப் பயங்கரவாதத் தாக்குதலை மிகவன்மையாகக் கண்டித்திருப்பதோடு பயங்கரவாதத்தை ஒழிப்பதற்காக அரசாங்கம் தற்போது மேற்கொண்டுவரும் நடவடிக்கைகளுக்கு தங்களது முழுமையான ஆதரவையும் தெரிவித்துள்ளனர்.
இச்சந்திப்பின் போது வரலாறு நெடுகிலும் புலிகள் இலங்கை முஸ்லிம் சமுகத்திற்கு எதிராக மேற்கொண்ட தாக்குதல்கள் குறித்து அமைச்சர் இராஜதந்திரிகளுக்கு விளக்கமளித்தார்.
குறிப்பாக 1990 ஆம் ஆண்டு ஆகஸ்ட் மாதம் காத்தான்குடிப் பள்ளிவாசலில் தொழுது கொண்டிருந்த அப்பாவி முஸ்லிம்களை படுகொலை செய்தமை, இன்னும் கிழக்கு மாகாணத்தின் பல்வேறு எல்லைப்புற கிராமங்களில்; அப்பாவி முஸ்லிம்களை வெட்டிக்கொன்றதையும் அமைச்சர் சுட்டிக்காட்டினார்.
1990 ஆம் ஆண்டு ஒக்தோபர் மாதம் வட மாகாணத்திலிருந்து முஸ்லிம் சமூகத்தை முழுமையாக இனச் சுத்திகரிப்புச் செய்த நிகழ்வையும் அமைச்சர் இராஜதந்திரிகளின் கவனத்திற்குக் கொண்டுவந்தார்.
நாட்டிலிருந்து பயங்கரவாதத்தை ஒழித்துக் கட்டுவதற்காக அரசாங்கம் முன்னெடுத்துவரும் மனிதாபிமான நடவடிக்கை இறுதிக்கட்டத்தை அடைந்துள்ள இச் சூழ்நிலையில் சர்வதேச சமூகம் இலங்கை அரசாங்கத்தின் நிலைப்பாட்டை புரிந்து கொண்டு அதற்கு ஆதரவளிக்க முன்வர வேண்டும் என அமைச்சர் பேகொல்லாகம கேட்டுக்கொண்டார

We, the Sri Lankan Muslim Information Centre UK condemn the suicide attack of the LTTE terrorist, on those who gathered to celebrate the Milad-un-Nabi Muslim Festival marking the birthday of the Holy Prophet Mohammed, at the Godapitiya Jumma mosque in Akuressa Godapitiya, around 10 a.m on the 10th of March 2009. The Muslims from the North, East and the North Central provinces have been subjected to the LTTE’s wide spread genocidal activities since 1990. It is on record that the LTTE has constantly attacked the worshippers at the Hijar Mosque, Oddamavadi,; Jairiya Mosque , Sammanthurai ; Meeraniya Jumma Mosque and Hussainiya Mosque, Kattankudy; Akkaraipattu Mosque and killed hundreds of Muslims including children, and this heinous act of terror on those who gathered to mark a religious occasion will be another addendum to the LTTE terrorism against the Muslims of Sri Lanka. We express our deep sympathies and condolences to the families who grieve the loss of their loved ones whilst praying for the speedy recovery of those who were injured in this barbaric suicide attack. We also urge all the Sri Lankans to unite irrespective of their religion, race and ethnicity to eliminate the LTTE terrorism in Sri Lanka.
