ஜனாதிபதி மகிந்த ராஜபக்ஷ ரஷ்யாவுக்கு நேற்று வெள்ளிக்கிழமை இரவு உத்தியோகபூர்வ விஜயமொன்றை மேற்கொண்டுள்ளார். இரண்டாவது பதவிக்காலத்துக்கு மீண்டும் தெரிவு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ள ஜனாதிபதி, தனது முதலாவது உத்தியோகபூர்வ விஜயமாகும் ஜனாதிபதியின் விஜயத்தின் போது இருதரப்பு உடன்படிக்கைகள் கைச்சாத்திடப்படவுள்ளன என்று ஜனாதிபதி ராஜபக்ஷவின் நெருங்கிய உதவியாளர் இந்து பத்திரிகைக்கு கூறியுள்ளார்.
ஜனாதிபதியின் முதலாவது பதவிக்காலமான 4 வருடங்களில் தனது வெளிநாட்டுக் கொள்கை தொடர்பாக மரபு ரீதியான கொள்கை கடைப்பிடிக்கப்பட்டிருக்கவில்லை. 2006 2009 இதற்கிடையிலான காலப்பகுதியில் விடுதலைப் புலிகளுக்கு எதிரான யுத்தத்தை துரிதப்படுத்துவதற்கு வழிகாட்டுவதாகவே வெளிநாடுகளுடன் ஜனாதிபதி முன்னெடுத்த உறவுகள் அமைந்திருந்தன.
முதலாவது பதவிக்காலத்தில் எஞ்சியிருக்கும் ஒரு வருடமும் மற்றும் இரண்டாவது பதவிக்காலத்துக்கான 6 வருடங்களும் போரினால் பாதிக்கப்பட்ட பொருளாதாரத்துக்கு உத்வேகம் அளிப்பதற்கான முக்கியமான உள் சார் கட்டமைப்புக்களுக்கு தேவைப்படும் உதவிகளை வலுப்படுத்துவதில் அவர் கவனஞ் செலுத்துவதாகவே வெளிநாட்டுக்கொள்கை அமைந்திருக்கும் அந்த இலக்கில் முன்னேற்றமடைவதற்காக உதவிக்கரம் நீட்டும் உலகிலுள்ள எந்தவொரு நாட்டையும் அவர் பற்றிக் கொள்ளக் கூடும் என்று அந்த உதவியாளர் கூறியுள்ளார்.
ராஜபக்ஷவின் வெளிநாட்டுக் கொள்கை தொடர்பான சில முன்நகர்வுகள் தொடர்பாகப் பொதுவாக மேற்குலகம் குறிப்பாக அமெரிக்காவும் விமர்சனத்தைக் கொண்டிருந்தன. உதாரணமாக அவரின் ஈரான், லிபியா விஜயங்கள் எதிர்ப்புணர்வின் சமிக்ஞையாக உள்வாங்கப்பட்டிருந்தது. ஆயினும் இலங்கையின் தேசிய நலனைக் கொண்ட உறவுகளையே ஜனாதிபதி ராஜபக்ஷ முன்னெடுத்ததாக அவரின் அதிகாரிகள் விளக்கமளித்திருந்தனர்.

Russia will give $300 million arms loan to Sri Lanka- February 5, 2010
Moscow: Russia will give Sri Lanka a $300 million loan to buy arms and dual use equipment from it, an agreement regarding which will be inked during the upcoming visit of president Mahinda Rajapaksa, a top official said today.
Rajapaksa is arriving in Moscow tomorrow, according to Kremlin. “Such agreement is being prepared for signing,” deputy finance minister Dmitry Pankin said. President Dmitry Medvedev is scheduled to hold talks with his Sri Lankan counterpart on Monday.
Rajapaksa will be on a three-day visit to attend the Golden Jubilee celebrations of his alma mater – Peoples Friendship University of Russia (PFU), till 1991 known as Patrice Lumumba Friendship University.
Russia will give Sri Lanka a $300 million loan to buy Russia arms and dual use equipment for its armed forces, Ria Novosti reported.
Moscow had backed Colombo in its combat against LTTE in spite of massive international criticism and during his Sri Lanka visit in October last Russian foreign minister Sergei Lavrov had offered military assistance to the island nation.

I think Anwar is mistaken. Who in Sri Lanka cares this “Naadu Kadantha Arasu”, only tiger supporters in foreign countries bluff about it and may be some 1000s in one time tiger stronghold. Look even the TNA does not bother and recently announced that they were ready to talk if president MR calls for them for talk.

A message from President Barack Obama of the United States was also read out in which President Obama said; “The United States values its enduring friendship with the people of Sri Lanka. I hope that the coming year will see advancement of our shared beliefs in democracy, liberty, pluralism, and respect for human rights. As the people of Sri Lanka celebrate National Day, they should know that they have a friend and partner in the United States.”
In addition to the Ambassador’s remarks, the celebration included remarks by Namal Rajapaksa, the son of Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa. Mr. Rajapaksa thanked the Sri Lankan expatriate community for their support of Sri Lanka. He also thanked the United States government for the help it has given to Sri Lanka. Mr. Rajapaksa called upon the youth to get together and join the programs of the Government of Sri Lanka to develop the country. He also reiterated the message of H.E. President Rajapaksa, stressing the importance of unity between all communities at this important time in Sri Lanka’s history.

இப்பல்கலைக்கழகத்திலேயே ஸ்ரீலங்காவில் இருந்து செல்லும் மாணவர்கள் பயின்றுவந்தனர். இதில் ரோஹண விஜவீரவும் அடக்கம். ரோஹணவை இப்பல்கலைக்கழகம் (சோவியத் அரசு) எவ்வாறு கைவிட்டது என்பது தனிக்கதை. அதைவிட சுவாரசியமான கதைகள் இப்பல்கலைக்கழகத்துக்கு ‘தெரிவாக’ ஸ்ரீலங்கா மாணவர்கள் செய்யும் ‘சோசலிச வேலைத்திட்டங்கள்’ ! ஆனால் படித்து முடிந்தவுடன் இவர்கள் செல்ல முயற்சிப்பது ‘முதலாளித்துவ ஏகாதிபத்திய அடக்குமுறை’ நாடுகள்! இன்று சோசலிசம் பேசும் எமது மாற்றுக்கருத்து நண்பர்கள் பலர் போல!
கொங்கோ நாட்டின் முதல் அரசதலைவராக இருந்த பற்றிஸ் லுமும்பாவின் பெயரில் இருந்தது இப்பல்கலைக்கழகம். சோவியத் யூனியன் வீழ்ச்சிக்குப்பின்னர் லுமும்பாவின் பெயரும் போய்ச்சேர்ந்து விட்டது.
ஸ்ரீலங்கா அரச/அரச சார்பு ஊடகங்கள் இந்தப்பட்டம் அறிவிக்கப்பட்டதும் அடித்து முழங்கின. ஆனால் பின்னர் கொஞ்சம் அடக்கி வாசிக்கின்றன. அதுதான் செய்திகளில் ‘காணாமல்’ போய்விட்டது!
